IELTS Writing Task 2: từ nối ngoài 'firstly, secondly'
Những từ nối giám khảo đánh giá cao, chia theo chức năng: bổ sung, tương phản, nguyên nhân, kết quả và kết luận.

Trong IELTS Writing, tiêu chí Coherence and Cohesion chiếm một phần tư số điểm. Từ nối giúp ích, nhưng chỉ khi chúng đa dạng và được dùng đúng. Bài nào cũng dùng firstly, secondly, in conclusion sẽ không giúp bạn tăng band.
Chia từ nối theo chức năng

Chú ý dấu câu
Rule
However, therefore và moreover đứng đầu một câu mới (hoặc sau dấu chấm phẩy) và có dấu phẩy theo sau.Whereas và although nối hai mệnh đề trong cùng một câu.
Đừng lạm dụng
Câu nào cũng bắt đầu bằng từ nối sẽ nghe máy móc. Chỉ dùng khi mối quan hệ giữa các ý thật sự cần được chỉ ra, phần còn lại hãy để đại từ (this, these, such) đảm nhận.
