1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information Rock Egg (the "Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Learning content — documents and their narration audio, vocabulary (including the words and phrases you save), dictation sets, quiz questions, your answers and attempt history, messages in your document conversations, the questions you ask on the Ask page together with their answers, and your Level Check answers, results by skill, time taken, and the English level saved to your profile.
• Subscription information — if you upgrade to a paid plan, Lemon Squeezy processes your payment. We store a record of your subscription (status, period, timestamps) but never your full card details.
• Usage and technical data — basic log data such as requests, timestamps, and error information needed to operate and secure the Service.

3. How we use your information

• to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• to generate quizzes, check your answers, reply in document conversations, and answer your questions on the Ask page (see AI processing below);
• to estimate your English level with the Level Check, and to use the level you save to set the difficulty of your daily vocabulary and quizzes;
• to narrate documents, words, and examples with text-to-speech;
• to count your credit usage and enforce plan limits, including the 7-day wait between Level Checks;
• to authenticate you and keep your account secure;
• to send account-related email such as verification and password reset;
• to process subscription payments; and
• to comply with legal obligations.

4. AI processing

To generate questions, check answers, reply in document conversations, and answer your questions on the Ask page, content you submit — such as your documents, your responses, your conversation messages, and your Ask questions — is processed by artificial-intelligence systems, which may include third-party providers (for example, OpenRouter and Google Gemini) and self-hosted language models. When you ask a follow-up in a conversation or Ask session, recent earlier messages from that same session are sent along so the reply makes sense.

Text-to-speech narration is generated on our own servers; the text is not sent to a third-party voice provider. Dictionary entries and Vietnamese translations are kept in a shared cache that is not linked to your account, so the same word or text does not need to be processed again. Level Check answers are scored on our own servers against answers prepared in advance; they are not sent to AI providers.

AI output is automated and may be inaccurate or incomplete; it is provided as a study aid only and should not be relied upon as authoritative. We do not use your content to train third-party models except as permitted by those providers' terms. Please do not include passwords, financial details, health information, or other sensitive personal information in documents, messages, or questions.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service, under appropriate obligations, including:

• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing for subscriptions;
• Email delivery providers — transactional email;
• AI providers — question generation, answer checking, document conversations, and answers on the Ask page.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the Service and its users.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual documents, document conversations, and Ask sessions at any time, which removes their messages and answers. Your Level Check history is kept so you can follow your progress. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, including all of your conversations, Ask sessions, and Level Check results, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and encrypting data in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

You may access and update your account information, and you may delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data; contact us to exercise them.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, remember your language, and operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
